During the three days there were moments of prayer and catechesis in preparation for the mission of the road. The night was definitely more intense than between 4 and 5 July. Every hour of sleep before the Blessed Sacrament, exposed in St. Paul, was enlivened with songs and fervent prayer by groups of young people of both the city and from various areas of Tuscany and Italy.
The members of the same groups in the hours between the 21 and the one became missionaries on the streets of Pistoia and invited hundreds of people to come to visit and to worship Jesus in the Eucharist. Era lo Spirito a parlare: la preparazione alla missione è stata fatta in un clima di preghiera talmente forte che il Padre ha risposto mandando il suo Spirito. La preghiera di lode, infatti, è stata festosa, cantata, accompagnata dalla Parola, e molto sentita, profonda.Si percepiva che i gruppi che hanno partecipato alla missione e all’Adunanza hanno alle spalle un cammino di fede intenso. I missionari, infatti, non erano animati da semplice entusiasmo dovuto ai canti, ai tamburelli e alle tante chitarre suonate per strada, ma da qualcosa di molto intimo, interiore che potremmo definire “confidenza e intimità con Gesù”. Essa si raggiunge camminando con Lui: tutti sappiamo che il cammino con Lui è gioioso, luminoso, ma anche arduo e difficile, comporta delle rinunce, dei sacrifici. È bello vedere che molti giovani hanno accettato tali sacrifici pur di percorrere la loro esistenza con Gesù, in Gesù, per Gesù. E le loro speranze non saranno deluse, because He who promised is faithful.
